She soon finds herself in trouble with the necromancer who owned the stone, an army of ghouls, and a goblin dark mage who steals the stone, but cannot break the bond unless he kills Raine. Why It Made the List This reads like a magical caper novel. Raine is brought into the crime by the hapless friend who manages to get his hands on something far beyond his ken.
